Minister’s message

“It is my pleasure to share the Department of Sport and Recreation’s announcement of the 2026–27 Sport Investment Programme.”

The Government of Bermuda remains committed to strengthening sport through strategic investment and meaningful partnerships with our National Sport Governing Bodies. Together, we are creating opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials, and administrators to thrive while fostering healthier communities and inspiring national pride.

This past year has seen continued progress in implementing the National Sports Policy, with Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plans helping to establish stronger pathways for athlete development from grassroots participation to high performance. Through the Sport Investment Programme, alongside the Elite Athlete Sponsorship and National Junior Athlete Sponsorship programs, we continue to invest in the people and organisations that drive sporting excellence in Bermuda.

The achievements highlighted in this publication reflect the dedication and collaboration of our National Sport Governing Bodies, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and community partners. Their commitment continues to strengthen Bermuda’s sporting landscape and create opportunities for future generations.

As we look ahead, the Government remains committed to supporting sport through sustainable investment, sound governance, and strong partnerships. I congratulate this year’s funding recipients and thank everyone who continues to contribute to the growth and success of sport in Bermuda.

The Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP, MP Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport
